Tesla's Schröder moves back to Sonnenbatterie

Schröder is not new to Sonnenbatterie, having already been a crucial part of the company's successful growth between 2012 and 2014, before moving to American automotive and energy storage company Tesla as their Germany and Austria Director.

Under Schröder's management, Tesla saw new registrations for its Model S exceed those of the BMW 7 Series and Porsche Panamera for the first time in March 2015. Tesla has nevertheless immense competition in the German market for electric vehicles considering the dominant domestic automotive industry with its own offerings.

Sonnenbatterie is a market leader for intelligent lithium storage systems in Germany. And Sonnenbatterie is also competition for Tesla in the German market especially after Tesla's announcement of its Powerwall home battery and Powerpack commercial battery. Sonnenbatterie's CEO Christoph Ostermann is thereby glad to have Schröder back. "He is a convinced advocate of renewable energy and has successfully demonstrated that he can sustainably develop new markets and structures, both at Tesla and in our company. We have big plans and we need someone like Schröder to execute them faster," Ostermann stated.
