The potential of renewables and EV charger integration for residential homes: what difference can it make?
EV ownership is driving solar take-up, and solar is driving EV take-up as well. This fact has been established in some countries, such as Norway, with multiple sources showing that EV owners in large proportions are adding solar panels and storage to their homes. The same effect in reverse applies as well: people with solar on their rooftops are maximizing every advantage from their systems, alongside some subsidies and grants, including using their own generation to power their transportation needs, and adding storage for self-consumption.
These virtuous cycles just need the right hardware, and smart software to flourish.
In this pv magazine Webinar, we’ll look at Sungrow’s new EV charger, the latest addition for its residential portfolio in Europe as the EV market continues to grow. Andrea Polini, senior product manager hybrid and ESS distribution at Sungrow will present detailed scenarios and case studies for how PV storage and EVs can work together in solar-storage-EV charging, looking at operational efficiencies, and how it compares to standalone solar, and operating ICE cars.
The AC011E-01 EV Charger, an 11kW AC charger at 50/60Hz, with IP 65 protection, adds to Sungrow’s existing residential three-phase hybrid inverter and battery solutions, and can be combined for an all-in-one smart system with iSolarCloud monitoring.
