Next step in PV system design – tools with cross-manufacturer input
Ensuring proper system design is key to installation success for rooftop solar PV project developers. Historically, PV system designers would have to climb onto roofs, take measurements, run shade analysis and then put together the ideal project based on these inputs. These processes are time and labor intensive, creating challenges for developers.
Today, the solar industry is becoming more sophisticated in project planning with digitalization – although the process is typically spread across several digital platforms. Installers first do an electrical design of systems, and then put outputs in programs to design the mechanical layout, including ballast dimensioning. K2 says it brings together the workflow with a new free software planning tool, automizing the planning process with information of different manufacturers in “cloud-based synchronicity”. Join the next pv magazine webinar, powered by K2 Systems, to learn about the latest trends in digital system design and for a demonstration of the latest free digital tool that saves time and improves efficiencies in project planning.
Webinar Content:
- New technology developments and trends that ease project planning, save time, and reduce errors
- Demonstration of the new feature K2+ in the design planning tool Base, which brings together a system from mounting structure to string design and yield prognosis, in one platform
- Live demonstration of a design calculation for a commercial and residential project using K2 Systems’ mounting systems and SolarEdge’s inverter
