Market impacts of high efficiency HJT

Register Now

Heterojunction (HJT)products now represent a small but growing share of the market for PV modules. And this technology can already claim several advantages over others. In this pv magazine Webinar, we take a look at the latest in HJT innovation and how it is already having an impact in leading PV markets.

Though heterojunction cell technology has been around a long time, only in the last few years have PV suppliers really begun to look at it as an option for the low-cost manufacturing mainstream.

Today we see HJT on the technology roadmaps of major cell and module maker, and several already striving ahead with large scale production. Among these is Huasun, which has successfully built 20 GW production capacity and achieved cumulative shipments exceeding 6 GW to over 40 countries and regions. The numbers behind these modules are impressive, with power outputs up to 740 W and module efficiencies beyond 23% in mass production. And research into further process optimizations and combination of HJT with perovskites is paving the way for cell efficiencies beyond the 28% mark and module power of 800 W.

In this pv magazine Webinar, we take a closer look at the application of this technology in the field, with case studies from commercial deployment of HJT modules offering both success stories and lessons learned. We’ll be joined by Christian Comes, Director of Business Development Europe at Huasun, for a look at the performance and reliability of HJT. He’ll discuss real world applications, and future trends to push HJT even further.

We’ll also hear from Chris Williams, UK Sales Manager at Renewables wholesaler Solartricity, about how the company has integrated Huasun’s HJT products into its portfolio and how learnings from this partnership will push solar technology forward.

Both speakers will also participate in a live Q&A session, offering a chance for the audience to get involved with questions. Don’t miss out on this chance for high level discussion of HJT technology.

Speakers

Christian Comes | Director of Business Development Europe, Huasun

Christian Comes has been in Photovoltaics since 2005. He worked for SANYO and Panasonic, developing the market for Heterojunction in Europe. He later joined Canadian Solar as Product Manager, participating in the successive market introduction of half-cut cell modules, PERC, bifacial and modules of G10 and G12 wafers. His main areas of expertise are module performance and reliability, with specific focus on energy simulations and LCOE. At Huasun, Christian Comes is the head of Business Development for Europe and there he is increasing the speed of adoption of Heterojunction for utility scale PV plants.

Chris Williams | UK Sales Manager at Renewables wholesaler, Solartricity

Chris has over 13 years of experience working in the Renewable Energy Sector. This experience includes founding his own Renewable Energy company, that primarily focused on decarbonizing industrial sectors and high energy users. Chris has been bought into Solartricity to lead their launch into the UK market.
