Yinson will pay Rs 554 million ($7.3 million) for a stake in New Delhi-based Rising Sun Energy, which operates two PV plants in the massive Bhadla Solar Park in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
The independent power producer now has 1.6 GW of operational solar assets. Other recently commissioned Azure projects include the final phase of a 260 MW solar project in Gujarat and a 100 MW facility in Karnataka.
Azure Power has raised the capital since June 30th, and says it is “the largest amount of financing raised by a solar power company in India during this period”. Azure says the fund leaves it well positioned to deliver a 2 GW project pipeline.
With the commissioning of 620 MW by three companies, the total capacity of Rajasthan’s Bhadla Solar Park has reached 1,365 MW, Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd (RRECL) announced.
