Grenada’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has launched a call to prequalify bidders for a 15.1 MWp solar project at Maurice Bishop International Airport, as part of the island’s energy transition.

Grenada is seeking an independent power producer (IPP) to build and operate a 15.1 MW utility-scale PV project for 25 years. The plant, planned near Maurice Bishop International Airport, will supply about 40% of the island’s peak load.

Grenada’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission is seeking expressions of interest for 15.1 MW of solar at Maurice Bishop International Airport. The project may also include a 10.6 MW/21.2 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The deadline for submissions is Sept. 20.
