Lithuanian government improves net metering scheme for solar

Lithuania’s new green-oriented government hopes to install approximately 200 MW of new residential and commercial PV capacity under an improved net metering scheme over the next three years.

Germany adds 122.5 MW of solar in February

After the year-end rally, Germany goes back to a moderate growth trend. Of the 122.5 MW installed in February, 50 MW comes from large-scale PV installations selected through the country’s auction scheme.

EU freezes minimum import price at China’s request

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce had proposed not to the change the conditions of the minimum price agreement until the end of the interim review. Brussels has now accepted this proposal. Ukrainian region of Kherson to host 35 MW solar plant

The Kherson Oblast, Ukraine’s southernmost region, will host a 35 MW PV plant. The region could also see the installation of around 250 MW of PV power this year, according to local authorities.

Manz reports stable turnover and improved results

Although the CIGS equipment manufacturer reported a negative Ebit of €35.9 million, this was improved considerably from the previous year. In 2017, the company aims to increase turnover significantily and to be back in the black.

With a production output of 70,000 MT, Wacker was the largest producer of polysilicon last year. The previous market leader, Jiangsu Zhongneng Polysilicon, has had technical problems with the commissioning of its fluidized-bed reactor technology.

Scatec Solar releases solid 2016 financial results

The Norwegian solar developer saw a significant increase in revenue in 2016. Project backlog also increased to 731 MW. Last year, Scatec secured 309 MW in new projects in Malaysia, Mozambique and Brazil.

Centrotherm’s order intake rose 55% in 2016

The German PV equipment manufacturer saw its order intake grow by 55% to €141.8 million (US$152.3 million) last year. The solar division was able to increase its turnover by 31%.
