European Commission confirms 18-month extension of antidumping and anti-subsidy tariffs, with a staged phase-out

The European Union will see an extension to hotly contested duties on Chinese PV exporters by 18 months. A spokesperson for the European Commission confirmed the move with pv magazine today, adding that the duties will be phased out, in line with industry cost reductions.

ECJ Judgement: Antidumping and anti-subsidy measures against China are legal

The Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxemburg this week confirmed the validity of the import duties, rejecting all complaints from 26 PV manufacturers. EU member states vote for 18-month extension to anti-dumping measures

The European Commission’s proposal to extend the anti-dumping measures for Chinese PV manufacturers by a year and a half has been put to the mediation committee. The final decision will be published on 4th March. A proposal to extend the measures by only 12 months also failed in the Appeals Committee.

German Police detain PV module thieves

Four men have been arrested on suspicion of theft, after an extensive investigation by German and Polish Police forces. The men are said to have broken into solar parks in several German states in order to steal modules and inverters.
