The expanded scope covers many sections of MIL-STD-810, additional ISTA transit and cold chain tests, as well as many additional test inputs for photovoltaic (PV) module testing.

New PV module tests include UV preconditioning, hot spot endurance, light-soaking, performance evaluation at STC, NOCT and low irradiance as specified in UL 1703, IEC 61215, IEC 61646, IEC 62108, and IEC 61730-2 PV module test standards. The newly added MIL-STD-810 tests to Westpak’s scope include mechanical shock, vibration, temperature/humidity extremes and high altitude.

Westpak, established in 1986, has laboratories in San Jose and San Diego, California. The company’s laboratories are accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by the American Association of Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for various ASTM, ISTA, IEC and UL test standards.
