The milestone was reached with the signing of the company’s latest PPA with Francois Marine & Offshore (part of Northern Marine Group) to install a 680 kWp solar rooftop installation at its facilities in Singapore. This milestone was reached within a period of less than 2 years since the start of the first project with Nippon Steel BlueScope Lysaght in Singapore in March 2021. Since then, URBAN RENEWABLES has signed more than 45 Power Purchase Agreements with a wide range of clients for more than 55 commercial & industrial buildings. Among its clients are companies such as Sumitomo, MTQ Corporation, AMOS, Merck, Lanxess, MC Packaging and other international and local corporates. In addition, the portfolio includes local institutions and organizations such as Republic Polytechnic, Jubilee Church and the Eurasian Association.

URBAN RENEWABLES was established to advance cities’ level of sustainable living and to provide corporates with opportunities to participate in renewable energy projects without high upfront investment. URBAN RENEWABLES has also started its regional expansion with several projects under development in Malaysia, Thailand and Bangladesh.

In the past two years, URBAN RENEWABLES has continued to strengthen its partnerships with leading companies such NS BlueScope Lysaght, Geneco and REC Solar to advance the deployment of solar rooftop installations in Singapore.

“We are excited to have reached the 20 MW milestone within two years of our first project in Singapore. This is evidence that our key differentiating factors (such as our ability to provide short-term leases) are attracting more and more building owners to work with us. In addition, our unique Solar + Roof solution where we provide a new roof for the building together with the installation of our solar panels has really boosted our growth plans for Singapore and the wider region.”, said Edgare Kerkwijk, Managing Director of URBAN RENEWABLES.

URBAN RENEWABLES has a target to own and operate 100 MW of solar PV rooftop installations in Singapore by the end of 2025. At the same time, it is also developing other energy solutions and the company operates its own EV charging services for C&I buildings and condominiums under the URBAN CHARGE brand.
