Jawaharlal National Nehru Solar Mission, Phase 1 Part 2

The RfS for the 350 MW PV for phase 1 part 2 has been submitted and the last date to do so was 3rd October 2011. Preliminary reports suggest that a total of 200 projects were submitted with a total of 3,000 MW capacity to fill in the capacity of just 350 MW. Everyone is suggesting another round of aggressive bidding with a window of prices as low as Rs. 9.5 per unit to a maximum of Rs. 10.4 per unit. Even though the dollar has appreciated around 10 percent, how much will it effect the bid strategy for developers is yet to be seen.

Rajasthan Solar Policy 2011: Bids for 150 MW Solar PV

The draft RfS for 150 MW bids in Rajasthan has been in draft for some time now and has undergone several changes since. Finally, it is expected to be announced this month. Even though there are 50 projects for one MW capacity, five and 10 MW projects are limited to 100 MW and will have a space to accommodate just about 10-15 developers. The results of JNNSM and the benefit of wheeling charges will push the prices even further south here.

Gujarat Solar Policy, Phase 1 and Phase 2 (965 MW)

A lot of people are watching the progress of 965 MW Solar PV projects in Gujarat closely. It seems that only about 250 MW of projects will come up by the Dec 31 deadline. But, ultimately a figure of around 500 MW is expected to come up depending on extensions. Lack of commitment by developers, rains, dalay by GETCO, financing and clearances for excise and custom exemption from MNRE are being blamed for the delays.

Gujarat Solar Mission 2 and tariffs for 2012 – 2014

There is expected to be a Curtain Raiser Discussion on Draft Policies For Gujarat Solar Policy Phase 2 by Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission in Ahmadabad on 21 October 2011 at an event hosted by Renewable Markets India.
