Transforming Subsidence Zones into Green Ecosystems with Trina’s Integrated Solutions
Trina Solar’s 150MW agrivoltaics and aquavoltaic project is located in the coal mining subsidence area of Shiheng Town, Feicheng City, Shandong Province. By maximizing the use of land previously impacted by mining, Trina has developed an innovative model combining agriculture (“farming under the panels”) and aquaculture (“fishing under the panels”). The project exclusively employs Trina Solar’s 670W Vertex modules, effectively lowering the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) and ensuring strong returns for investors. During the visit, rows of solar modules stood high above water surfaces, where fish could be seen jumping, underscoring the project’s dual economic and ecological benefits.
Near the solar plant, the Phase II Trina Feicheng Energy Storage Station features Trina’s Elementa liquid-cooled energy storage system, with proprietary components from battery cells to PCS. These components, including battery clusters, a BMS, DC combiner boxes, liquid cooling, and fire suppression systems, are integrated within a 20-foot container. On-site experts introduced advanced safety measures, including AI-based early warning systems, multi-level fire suppression, and comprehensive safety protocols, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
