Sidus lithium battery production capacity is expected to expand to 8 GWh once the Gaoyou facility is completed. Since its set up of the IBM Cobalt- free Lithium Battery R&D Center along with the plan to build the first 2 GWh lithium battery factory in Changzhou China, Sidus has signed orders of RMB 1.75 billion as of April, 2020, and has strategic cooperation with Mercedes Benz and Central Glass on the IBM Battery ECO system.
Dr. Ben Li, CEO of Sidus China, highlighted the prospect of cobalt-free lithium battery technology. “The successful construction of Changzhou facility provided an excellent reference point for the future addition of production capacity in Gaoyou which will enable the company to meet the growing demand of global customers. “said Dr. Li.
“With IBM-LEO lithium battery technology, Sidus will continue to innovate ultra-high performance products.” said Mr. Liu, “Gaoyou production facility is one step further towards our lithium battery gigafactory.”
