S.A.G. Solarstrom AG is expanding its supplier base for high-quality modules and has concluded a contract for the supply of polycrystalline photovoltaic modules with a total capacity of 60 MWp in 2011 with the vertically integrated module producer Canadian Solar Deutschland GmbH.

The modules are scheduled for planned projects, primarily in Germany and Italy. Intensive assessments of technology and quality preceded the signing of the contract with Canadian Solar. With this contract, the S.A.G. Group is extending their system partnerships with leading component manufacturers.

Canadian Solar Inc., a company listed on the NASDAQ and based in Kitchener, Ontario is one of the largest module manufacturers in the world, with a global production capacity of 1.3 GWp. As a vertically integrated manufacturer at seven locations in China, Canadian Solar produces ingots, wafers, and solar cells, as well as solar modules and solar systems.

“Quality, performance ratio and an interesting price/performance ratio are, from our point of view, the decisive factors for purchasing components and establishing new system partnerships. The Canadian Solar modules have impressed us in every respect, which is why we are very happy that we have now been able to obtain a further partner whose modules we can use to construct photovoltaic systems with S.A.G. quality“, says Dr. Karl Kuhlmann, CEO of S.A.G. Solarstrom AG.

The supply contract now concluded with Canadian Solar includes polycrystalline modules with a total output of 60 MWp. The modules have extensive international certifications as well as a product guarantee for six years and a performance guarantee for 25 years.

S.A.G. Solarstrom AG binds all suppliers to a Code of Conduct, which includes compliance with human rights, environment, health and safety protection as well as combating corruption and child labor.
