S.A.G. Solarstrom AG: Photovoltaics represent an important component in the energy mix of the future

The S.A.G. Group will be presenting itself at the Intersolar 2011 in Hall B6, Booth 330.

"With the option of local usage on rooftops, photovoltaics offer an enormous potential for the energy turnaround initiated in Germany," says Karl Kuhlmann, CEO of S.A.G. Solarstrom AG. "It would therefore be desirable for politicians to recognize photovoltaics as an important component in the energy mix of the future and to set the correct course for a future regulatory framework.

"The Renewable Energy Act has supported the development of a mass market, so that we will be able to supply photovoltaics at the same cost as the price of household electricity within a foreseeable period of one to two years, and in approximately five years at industrial energy prices. High investments in transportation networks, such as offshore solutions, are not required either for local usage of photovoltaics," explains the CEO.

According to the Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA), additional construction worldwide will increase to almost 44 GWp by 2015, and the installed power accumulated to almost 196 GWp. Germany remains one of the most important solar markets worldwide, with forecast annual additional construction of between three and five GWp.

The international photovoltaic specialist will present its service portfolio at this year’s Intersolar 2011 from June 8 to June 10 in Munich in Hall B6, Booth 330, and will provide some insights into projects in various European countries. S.A.G.

Solarstrom AG constructs national and international photovoltaic systems of all sizes, including rooftop and rooftop-integrated systems, as well as ground-mounted systems. The Group also offers services all along the photovoltaic value chain. In 2010, S.A.G. Solarstrom AG achieved sales of €201 million and an EBIT of €13.1 million. For 2011, sales of between €260 and €280 million, as well as an EBIT of between €16 and €18 million are anticipated.
