Brazil is one of the most advanced countries in South America in terms of renewable energy development, boasting substantial electricity demand and abundant solar resources. Coupled with favorable government energy policies, Brazil's photovoltaic system construction and application market have been rapidly growing in recent years, making it one of the world's most significant photovoltaic markets. According to the latest data from the Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association (ABSolar), as of March 2024, the country's operational photovoltaic installed capacity has exceeded 40 GW, with approximately 27.5 GW coming from distributed photovoltaic generation systems.
