Panasonic Corporation announced today (Tuesday) it has received the Zayed Future Energy Prize 2015 an award established by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government and managed by Masdar for the large corporation category.
His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE armed forces, presented the award to Yoshihiko Yamada, executive vice president and member of the board of Panasonic Corporation at an awards ceremony in Abu Dhabi, yesterday.
The Zayed Future Energy Prize, inaugurated in 2008, recognizes leading solutions in renewable energy and sustainability and represents the vision of the late founding father and the first president of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who championed environmental stewardship and sustainability.
Panasonic boasts an extensive range of products supported by technologies that create, store, and save energy and save water, such as its ECONAVI and the HIT solar power generation system.
It has also played a key role in the development of the Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town, an eco-conscious, sustainable city that keeps residents at the heart of everything, alongside partners and the city of Fujisawa.
Panasonic has received this year's Zayed Future Energy Prize in recognition of these achievements, which adhere to Panasonic's management philosophy of social contribution.

"Since our foundation, we have endeavored to stay true to our management philosophy, to contribute to the progress and development of society through our business activities and a sustainable future.
