"UL 1703 compliance is an important milestone for Lumeta; it recognizes the high quality of our Powerply modules and allows us to begin commercial shipments to our customers in the U.S.," said Tim Davey, CEO of Lumeta's parent company, DRI Companies. "Combined with accelerated life testing from an independent lab, this certification validates the long term robustness of our innovative patented design."

The Powerply 400W module combines a DuPont Tefzel front sheet and lightweight composite substrate with high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar cells to maximize power density, eliminating the glass and aluminum frame structure of conventional modules. Powerply is designed for low slope applications; it adheres directly to the roof without racking, reducing system weight and eliminating wind loading issues. With no roof penetrations, it prevents water leaks and costly roof maintenance while significantly reducing installation time and costs.

"Powerply represents a significant advance in module technology. We have the benefits of using proven cSi technology in a form factor which allows direct integration to the roofing membrane," said Jonathan Pickering, EVP and GM of Lumeta. "With the CSA certification, North American commercial building owners now have the option for a lightweight, high power density, PV system which does not compromise the functionality of their roof systems."

Lumeta will be exhibiting at Intersolar North America in San Francisco's Moscone Center West Hall from July 13-15, booth number 8559.
