The project will be deployed across two sites, with one site utilizing 20MWh (4 ESS systems) and the other site utilizing 5MWh (1 ESS system). This initiative aims to support the factory’s transition from traditional power generation to a cleaner, more sustainable energy model.
The Factory, which currently relies on a mix of diesel generators, thermal power plant, and solar energy, is seeking to reduce its carbon footprint and operational costs by integrating PV + ESS solutions. The SunTera systems will enable the factory to increase stability of existing power plant with renewable energy while leveraging photovoltaic (PV) generation and energy storage for peak shaving and time-of-use (TOU) arbitrage. This approach not only supports the factory’s sustainability goals but also enhances energy efficiency and cost savings.
The safety of the SunTera energy storage system was the main reason for UTI's selection. With high energy density, advanced liquid cooling technology, including specially designed coolant flow paths, temperature, pressure and flow rate monitoring sensors, it ensures that the temperature difference between the cells is kept within 2°C, which greatly improves the battery's service life and system performance, and at the same time minimizes the potential fire hazards caused by overcharging and over-discharging due to the uneven temperature difference. Each system is certified by a third party to meet international and local standards to ensure safe and reliable operation. In addition, the system is pre-installed with a PCS, which supports plug-and-play functionality, greatly simplifying the on-site installation and commissioning process.
