The project, located in Beers, Netherlands, involves the integration of five advanced BESS units, Jinko’s SunGiga All in One 215 kWh systems, that store solar energy generated during the day, enabling Koelbedrijf Cornelissen to power its cooling systems in the evening. The installation enhances the energy independence of the facility while optimizing the use of renewable resources, reducing reliance on the grid, and cutting energy costs.
“We are proud to work with Watts In Store on this innovative project,” said Roberto Murgioni, Head of ESS Europe at Jinko. “Battery energy storage is a crucial component in maximizing the potential of renewable energy, and this installation will help Koelbedrijf Cornelissen to make the most of the solar power they generate. The project is expected to be a reference for future BESS deployments across Europe, as companies seek to improve energy efficiency and sustainability in their operations.
Watts In Store's Manager of Operations, Micha van Son, highlighted the importance of the project for the local energy landscape: “This project showcases how energy storage solutions can be effectively utilized to maximize the potential of solar energy, even for high-energy-demand sectors like refrigeration. Once fully operational, it will help Koelbedrijf Cornelissen to further minimize their carbon footprint and operational costs.’’
