All five solar energy installations are completely equipped with Conergys own in-house system technology. To this end, the Hamburg-based company has mounted a total of 18,500 Conergy PowerPlus modules on Conergy mounting systems that will now produce more than 4,500 MW hours of clean electricity each year. This will be fed into the Italian electricity grid by 51 Conergy inverters and thus supply 1,300 households per year.
Italy 2010: Nearly all Conergy parks equipped with in-house system technology?
The plurality of new solar projects is self-evident: projects featuring Conergy system technology convince investors again and yet again, says Head of Conergy Italy, Giuseppe Sofia. We are currently building two out of three photovoltaic parks worldwide with our in-house, well-matched components. In Italy, the worlds second largest solar energy market meanwhile, the percentage is even higher: in 2010, we equipped nearly all our solar parks here with our own system technology. This ensures consistently high returns for our customers be it on the free-field or on the roof.
Huge potential for commercial on-roof systems as well
In addition to free-field systems, solar installations are also increasingly being found on the rooftops of companies and production halls: It is precisely there that we are seeing great potential, says Sofia. In addition to the topic of sustainability, companies are increasingly wrestling with the rising cost of electricity in the country. An on-roof system kills two birds with one stone: It helps with the green image and even saves the company good money.
Solar industrial roof-tops: Sustainable production in operations in South Tyrol and Veneto?
As an example, the robotics producer Dalmec idyllically located in Cles in the South Tyrolean mountains covers now more than a third of its electricity requirements with its new Conergy on-roof system. 2,300 PowerPlus modules make the company there a bit greener. The heat technology manufacturer Arneg in Campo San Martino in Veneto is also relying on sustainable production with the solar energy system on the factory roof. Together, the two power plants are avoiding over 14,000 tons of harmful CO2 over the course of the entire life time.
The three free-field systems in Nanto and in San Michele al Tagliamento in Veneto as well as in Zollino in Apulia together are even preventing more than 34,000 tons of CO2 over their entire term. Here, too, 100 percent Conergy system technology is ensuring solar security: a total of more than 12,500 Conergy PowerPlus modules on Conergy SolarLinea mounting systems and nine Conergy IPG 300 K inverters are producing clean electricity in the appropriate IPG CIS central inverter stations.
Conergy will continue to strengthen its international orientation in 2011. In addition to Italy, the solar company also focuses on new international growth markets. The Hamburg-based solar experts are utilizing their many years of experience from the German domestic market and are active in 16 countries worldwide in the meantime. The Conergy Group is now already generating half of its turnover abroad and is thus one of the strongest internationally positioned German solar energy companies.
