The one-day forum will take place from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. and will consist of three sessions: Market, Silicon and Thin Film. Experts from within key companies will address best practices and case studies that can provide PV production management, purchasing staff and product managers with ways to increase throughput and efficiency, and to save money in production fabs. A breakdown of presentations in each session follows.
The first tract of the conference is the Market Session, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Salon de Actos/Foro Norte. During this session, several advanced discussions will be presented, including Fully Integrated and Highly Automatic ? Technology Processes in One of the Most Modern Solar Factories in the World by Dr. Karl Heinz Küsters, Head of Technology of Conergy. Peter Pauli, CEO of Meyer Burger, will present Technology Development on Wafer-Cell-Module-Lines to reach lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCoO). Additionally, PV Manufacturing Equipment ? A Current Overview and Future Opportunities will be presented by Mark Watson, Senior Research Analyst at IMS Research.
A 30-minute break from 10-10:30 a.m. will allow attendees to network, ask questions, etc. Following the break, Dr. Klaus Eberhardt, Technology Manager Photovoltaics for Global Technology Services, M+W Germany, will present Large Scale PV Manufacturing ? Advanced Design and Automation Concepts to Reduce Overall CoO (Cost of Ownership). Next, A Roadmap towards Grid Parity Using Integrated Automation Concepts for Large Scale PV Factories will be given by Dr. Roland Schreieck, Business Development Solar of Siemens. In the last presentation of the Market Session, Elisabeth Schaertl, Manager Sales Asia of KUKA Systems, will present PV Equipment ? Market and Development.
Immediately following lunch, the Silicon Session will begin and will take place from 1:30-6:30 p.m. in the Sala Ausias March/Exhibition Area. Presentations during this tract include the following: Power Solutions for a Stable and Efficient Poly-Silicon Deposition Process, by Gladwyn De Vidts, VP Power Control Solutions Division at AEG Power Solutions. Next, Patrick Binkowska, Head of Business Unit Photovoltaics for Singulus Technologies, will present Modern Production Technology for Silicon Solar Cells. Diamond Wire for PV Applications ? Bricking, Squaring and Wafering by Brian Larabee, VP Sales and Marketing at Diamond Materials Tech, will follow.
A short break will be provided from 3-3:15 p.m. and the Silicon Session will resume with Crystalline Module Fab: Higher Yield with Improved Process Control by Claudio Meisser, CTO of Komax. Laser Technology for Manufacturing PV Cells and Modules will be given by Richard Hendel, International Sales Manager of ROFIN-BAASEL Lasertech. Next, Steffen Gunther, Sales Manager Solar of Reis Robotics, will present Automation as a Key Success Factor for PV Manufacturing. Following another break from 4:45-5 p.m., Roger Little, CEO of Spire, will present Advanced Metrology Solutions for High-Volume Module Production. Karsten Busch, Industry Segment Manager Solar PV at ABB Automation, will finish the session with the presentation Latest Robot Applications for High-End Automated Backend Module Manufacturing.
Held simultaneously, the Thin Film Session will take place from 1:30-6:30 p.m. in the Sala Joaquin Rodrigo/Exhibition Area. Presentations during this tract include Advancements in Nanocrystal PV Manufacturing by Dr. Damode Reddy, CEO of Solexant; In-line Metrology for Thin-Film PV Production by Dr. Stefan Gritsch, Product Manager, and Dr. Schenk of Industriemesstechnik; and ALD Production Systems for Manufacturing of CIGS and Enhanced Efficiency c-Si Solar Cells by Jarmo Skarp, Application Manager Photovoltaics at Beneq Oy.
A 15-minute break from 3-3:15 p.m. will be provided and the Thin Film Session will begin again with High Reliability of Conductive Adhesives for Thin-Film Interconnects by Rich Wells, CTO of Engineered Conductive Materials LLC. Next, Dr. Marc Hueske, Vice President of LPKF SolarQuipment, will present Next Generation Thin-Film Scribing Equipment. Following, Efficiency Improvements and Shorter Return on Investment on Thin Film PV Modules will be given by Dr. Thomas Umschlag, Head of Sales Thin Film Solar at Manz Automation. Attendees will be given another short break from 4:45-5 p.m. and presentations pick back up with Is the Backend a Bottleneck? by Hendrikus Salemink, Product Manager Photovoltaics of Schiller Automation. The session will end with Industrial Sputtering ? Improvements in Productivity and Control for Transparent Conductive Oxides by Victor Bellido-Gonzalez, R&D Manager at GENCOA.
