Renewable energy lies at the core of the energy transition strategy in Brazil and globally. The Brazilian Northeast stands out as one of the most promising areas in the country, accounting for nearly 20% of the 53.9 GW of installed capacity, according to Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL), alongside forecasts of investments in green hydrogen projects worth billions. Against this backdrop, Fortaleza is gearing up to host Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste, one of the region’s most comprehensive events focusing on solar generation and related themes. The event will take place on 23 and 24 April at Centro de Eventos do Ceará.
Now in its fifth edition, Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste has cemented its place in the regional calendar, attracting 100 exhibiting companies in 7,500 m² and expecting over 5,000 visitors. Organised by Aranda Eventos & Congressos in partnership with Germany’s Solar Promotion International GmbH, the Summit will highlight strategic discussions shaping the solar industry’s future.
According to ANEEL, Ceará emerged as the largest producer of solar energy in the Northeast in 2024, with 21.5% of the region’s total installed capacity and ranking ninth nationally. Additionally, the state is set to attract investments worth R$168.9 billion for green hydrogen projects by 2031, according to a study by the IXL Center, a US-based management consulting firm, commissioned by the Government of Ceará and its Federation of Industries (FIEC).
Over two days, professionals in the solar and renewable energy sectors will have the chance to network, explore the latest trends and innovations in solar technology, and connect with leading market players.
“The energy transition has become a global priority. In this context, the world looks to Brazil, with the Northeast standing out as one of the most significant regions in this endeavour. Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste aims to bring together key figures in the solar energy sector and related fields, such as green hydrogen, the carbon market, and e-mobility, to discuss trends, foster connections, and plan the next steps for these markets,” says Dr. Florian Wessendorf, Managing Director of Solar Promotion International GmbH.
The Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste Conference will feature over 30 renowned speakers, all experts in the sector, and is expected to welcome around 500 participants. Together, they will address critical topics, including the carbon market, challenges and opportunities in decentralised solar generation, microgrids and distributed generation, green hydrogen, energy storage, energy transmission, and e-mobility.
Intersolar Summit Brasil Nordeste will also offer two-hour workshops that will provide solar energy professionals with opportunities to enhance their expertise.
