These obstructions not only reduce the output power of the module, but in severe cases will cause the “hot spot effect”, affecting the overall power generation of the system and jeopardizing the safety of power generation.

The newly released Hi-MO 9 module can effectively respond to obstructions challenges using the HPBC 2.0 technology. Its unique “weak conduction” design allows the module to sidestep obstructions, ensuring that the rest of the module can still generate electricity normally, significantly reducing overall power loss. Moreover, this technology can effectively reduce the power generation at the obstruction, making the module bid farewell to local overheating issues and avoid fire risks.

In a definitive demonstration plant at Bingou, the resistance to obstructions was clear and immediate.

Throughout September and October of 2024, LONGi collaborated with clients to undertake a performance demonstration at Bingou site in Yinchuan. Adopting plastic piles to emulate the shadowing effect of electric poles or wind turbine towers, the project site's desert environment hosted the one-month trial. Each group consisting of 18 interconnected modules tied into a single string inverter system was tested to affirm the Hi-MO 9 and TOPCon modules' power generation capacity under customary obstructions and shadows. Within scenarios of simulated pole obscurations, the Hi-MO 9 module showcased its exceptional power generating prowess.

Data from October 1st to 7th illustrated that its total energy output exceeded the TOPCon modules by 83.764kWh, and the energy yield per kilowatt outstripped the TOPCon modules by 5.985kWh, effectuating a substantial 21.03% enhancement in power generation gain. Generally speaking, the specialized design of Hi-MO 9 for combating shadow obstructions can recover up to 70% of power loss. The project's full-period average energy gain stood at 18%, which ascended beyond 30% during moments of high solar irradiance, thoroughly manifesting the prodigious power generation strength of the Hi-MO 9 under shaded conditions.

The high-energy second-generation BC module Hi-MO 9 makes shadow obstructions no longer a “hidden pain” for the safety and efficient power generation of power stations. As a builder of the green energy world, LONGi is providing end-users with more valuable and reliable high-income BC technology products. BC technology will drive the world towards a more sustainable green future.
