The event brought in more than 300 attendees, some from as far away as France, and included customers, industry partners, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, and Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Secretary Manny Perez. Wisconsin Secretary of Commerce Paul Jadin was the featured speaker.

Guests were able to tour the new facility and see demonstrations of the highly-automated solar manufacturing process utilized at Helios. Secretary Jadin noted the manufacturer’s commitment to working with a number of partners and businesses to create the highest quality product and praised Helios for taking Milwaukee’s manufacturing heritage to the next level, carrying it into the green energy industry.

The commitment Helios has demonstrated to providing jobs in the local community was also highlighted and the company received acknowledgment from the Department of Workforce Development for its efforts to hire veterans.

“This is a very proud moment for Helios Solar Works. And we’re excited about the enthusiastic show of support from our key customers and suppliers, as well as from the local business community, in helping us launch our company,” said Steve Ostrenga, president of Helios.

Helios plans to attend the PV America Expo at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, April 3-5, 2011 and hopes to see you there. They will continue to update the company website with news and events.

Helios Solar Works is Wisconsin’s first manufacturer of high-performance solar modules for use in residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-based solar electric systems. The company’s competitively priced high-efficiency modules create new market opportunities by making solar electricity more attractive and economical.
