On November 24, 2011, Gehrlicher Solar sold two solar parks near the city of Villeneuve-sur-Lot, France, to White Owl Capital AG. The installations with peak performances of 1.9 MWp and 2.6 MWp are situated in the Aquitaine region, around 100 km south east of Bordeaux. White Owl Capital AG, a Berlin based investor specialised in renewable energies, has already purchased several solar parks from Gehrlicher Solar in Italy and Spain.

Tobias Pehle, CEO of White Owl Capital AG, says: "We are pleased that we are already seeing a great performance of the plants. The high technical expertise of Gehrlicher Solar gives our investors a secure yet highly profitable investment. We are planning to promote the successful cooperation with Gehrlicher Solar in the future with further joint projects." Klaus Gehrlicher, CEO of Gehrlicher Solar AG, adds: "Thanks to the very good cooperation of all participants, we were able to build the plants much quicker than planned. We are very pleased to have White Owl Capital AG once again as our business partner."

Within the space of a few weeks Gehrlicher Solar installed a total of 59,520 modules from First Solar, seven SMA inverters and its own substructure Gehrtec Base. Dr. Wolfgang Rosenberg, Managing Director of Gehrlicher Solar France SAS: "With an annual electricity yield of approximately 5.5 million kilowatt hours the systems can provide around 1,600 three-person households with electricity. Despite changes in the legal framework we continue to see potential for solar energy in France. We will focus primarily on large area rooftop systems and wholesale."
