Chairman Holger Ruletzki states: “Our declared aim as a cooperative association is to purchase high quality solar components cheaply and thus provide quality assurance management for our members.”

The organisation will also provide professional support for member companies in regard to legal aspects, preparing contracts and in handling customs, transport and logistics issues. The prerequisite for membership is a construction volume of at least five MW per year.

The six founding member companies of the cooperative achieved a total turnover of around €120 million in 2010. The total module requirement for this year is around 100 MW. The turnover ought to grow quickly, since there are already a considerable number of applications for membership – including from abroad.

“I’m confident that this model will enable us to position ourselves successfully in the market as an attractive partner for suppliers and subcontractors,” says Vice-Chairman Gerhard Krey.
