Eurener donates laminated photovoltaic cells that serve to generate the electricity to drive the car and feed their guidance and communication systems. Also provides technical advice to the students and teachers who are doing the design and make the team competitor called UCAM Racing Team.

The prototype consists of an electric car with a power of 1 KW which is supplied by solar PV energy. The recharging of the Lithium-Ion battery that powers the motor is made by high efficiency solar laminates donated by Eurener.

It also incorporates an innovative communication system based on the popular hands-free bluetooth with the addition of a telemetry system to collect real-time information from sensors network distributed by the entire car. These data will be sent to the boxes during the race in order to be analyzed and allow the team to make changes to the parameters of the car during the race.

The competition will take place from 15th to 19th May at the Ahoy circuit in Rotterdam (Netherlands) with the participation of 200 teams and 3000 students from all over Europe fighting for energy efficiency and sustainable development. Shell Eco-marathon challenges student teams from around the world to design, build and test ultra-efficient low power vehicles.

This annual event has a long history that began first in America and has spread through Europe and Asia. The winners are the teams that go further using less energy. The event raises a debate on the future of mobility and inspires young engineers to push the boundaries of energy efficiency.
