The European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition proudly announces the appointment of Dr Gabriele Eder as Chair of the 41st edition of the event, which will take place from 23-27 September 2024 in Vienna, Austria. Dr Eder is an esteemed expert in the field of PV research and brings a wealth of experience to her role as Chair. With her professional background and a deep understanding of the solar energy landscape, Dr Eder will elevate the event and help foster innovation and collaboration among professionals from research, industry and government.

In line with Austria's ambitious goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2040, hosting the EU PVSEC highlights the central role of photovoltaics in reaching this task. Austria is aware of the importance of using solar energy through photovoltaic technology as a key measure to reduce CO2 emissions. In support of this initiative, various measures were implemented to accelerate the adoption of photovoltaics in the country via the Austrian Technology Platform Photovoltaics and other local institutions. As the largest international conference for photovoltaic research, technologies, and applications, the EU PVSEC continues to be a key event for shaping the future of solar energy. Dr Eder expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “It is a great pleasure and challenge for me to serve as General Chair of the 41st EU PVSEC. This conference plays a crucial role in the further development of photovoltaic technologies and their integration into innovative applications. I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the EU PVSEC in 2024.”
