“Europe is a solar industry leader. The European solar industry is a front runner in R&D and manufacturing of equipment, inverters, raw and processing materials. Now is the moment to create a strong industrial basis for our sector for generations to come. To do this, the EU must part ways with damaging policies such as import tariffs on solar panels, which have reduced demand and competitiveness” said Christian Westermeier, President of SolarPower Europe.
“The European Commission's Clean Energy Industrial Forum will build the real framework to make solar manufacturing grow and with an industrial competitiveness strategy in place, the solar sector alone could support 300,000 jobs by 2030.
