EnPV, a subsidiary of EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, one of Germany's leading energy companies, will present its latest technology at PV CELLTech USA 2024 on October 8th, 2024. Massimo Centazzo, CEO of EnPV, will be in San Francisco to showcase the company's proprietary technology called SABC, a self-aligning TOPCon IBC cell architecture that enables more efficient and cost-effective solar cell manufacturing. “In a nutshell, more power for less money” he says, highlighting the benefits of the process.
To this end, EnPV is introducing an innovative IBC solar cell process that utilizes the directional deposition properties of doped polysilicon by Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD). This process enables self-aligned isolation of passivated contacts, effectively separating contact polarities. The SABC (Self-Aligned Back-Contact) cell contains n– and p-type passivated contacts achieved by tunnel oxide and doped n– and p-type poly-Si layers, respectively, arranged in an interdigital pattern on the backside.
The novel process was recently featured in detail in PV Magazine (article dated October 1, 2024).).
