Trina Solar Limited (NYSE: TSL) ("Trina Solar" or “The Company"), a global leader in photovoltaic ("PV") modules, solutions, and services, today announced that EDF EN has chosen Trina Solar’s Dual Glass 1,500V modules for its 12 MW PV power plant in Fos Sur Mer, Southern France. La Fossette solar power plant is one of the first in Europe to be equipped with this latest generation of modules, which was developed to increase the system voltage and string lengths by up to 50%. La Fossette solar power plant is expected to be connected to the grid in February 2017.
The installation at La Fossette, which is managed by EDF Energies Nouvelle, features 45,510 Trina Solar modules, with an output power of 265W. The project marks a milestone for Trina’s commitment to expanding its presence in the French solar energy market. EDF EN, the leading renewable energy company in France, chose the 1,500V certified Dual Glass TSM-PEG5 for its performance, quality and reliability.
The 1,500V system voltage enabled by the Trina Solar modules is ideal for La Fossette. Not only are overall energy losses reduced, but the site will also benefit from up to a third fewer source circuits, combiner boxes and home-run wires.
´+The Dual Glass feature of the modules ensures that La Fossette benefits from a longer lifespan of the product, reducing maintenance and associated costs. Two layers of 2.5mm heat-strengthened glass ensure reduced micro-cracking, PID, module warping, and environmental corrosion.
