The first solar tracker manufacturer to achieve the certification twice, Valmont Solar raises the bar with enhanced metrics validated by third-party accreditation.
Valmont Solar, a pioneer in solar tracker solutions, proudly announces the renewal of its NCI (New Circularity Index) certification, awarded by ICMQ as an accredited and independent body, solidifying its position as the first solar tracker manufacturer to achieve this milestone—now for the second time.
The renewed certification represents a step forward in sustainability and circularity, reflecting a comprehensive analysis of materials, energy, water, and waste across the entire production cycle. The life cycle analysis spanned from raw material sourcing to product end-of-life, emphasizing cradle-to-grave accountability. Notably, this new certification scheme introduced stricter rules around needed accurateness of the gathered data, ensuring higher standards and treasuring the sustainability of the company supply chain.
The process began in early 2024 and involved extensive data collection, involving its entire supply chain and analyzing 2023 production data, reflecting the most current practices and performance metrics.
The results speak volumes: with over 74.75% recyclable materials and 99.49% circularity in waste, Valmont Solar showcases exceptional environmental performance.
Materials Circularity: With over 74.75% recyclable materials, Valmont Solar demonstrates its commitment to minimizing the environmental impact of raw material sourcing and usage.
Waste Circularity: Achieving 99.49% circularity ensures that almost all production waste is recycled.
Greg Turi, President Global Solar and Telecom, commented:
