According to company sources, the retrofitted Mercedes-Benz Citaro O530 electric bus is equipped with a 318 kWh battery pack, engineered using innovative immersion technology with MIVOLT dielectric liquids, and certified under ECE R10 and ECE R100 regulations. This proprietary immersion technology ensures superior thermal management of the battery system, enhancing the vehicle’s energy density, safety, and charging rate. In a major stride toward achieving a net-zero future, the project aims to retrofit 400 buses owned by the Municipality of Istanbul for urban transportation. The electric bus at the forefront of this initiative boasts an industry-leading range of 250 km on a single charge, a top speed of 70 kmph and can be fully charged in under 45 minutes. To date, the vehicle has successfully completed over 40,000 kms of on-road testing in Istanbul city.
