The software was presented at the previous Intersolar for the first time as a stand-alone specialized and dedicated software solution for PV planning. It enables the design, calculation, visualization and documentation of in-roof, roof and wall mounted PV systems and systems in open areas. Sun and shadow simulations are possible as well as yield calculations.
In addition to the visual design and simulation, DDS-CAD PV can also be used to produce additional documentation like bill of quantities, material lists, installation plans, and system schematics. For the yield estimation and the automatic inverter mapping, DDS-CAD PV uses the reputable simulation software Polysun.
Polysun is fully integrated in DDS-CAD PV and contains a comprehensive database of PV modules and inverters. The new version of the software provides the user with additional criteria for calculating the available rate of return. Thanks to these newly available configuration possibilities, the flexibility has increased significantly and now allows for individual customization.
Furthermore, the software includes a new interface to the photovoltaic measuring devices "PROFITEST PV Tech" and "PROFITEST PV Xtra", both are products from Gossen Metrawatt. This interface allows direct transfer of DDS-CADs design data to the measuring devices, making manual data entry and transfer obsolete. After testing the PV system, the measured data is transferred directly back into DDS-CAD PV and can be used for the preparation of the relevant test reports. In addition to planning PV systems, DDS-CAD has additional modules available that enable the planning of further wiring. This permits the user not only to design and calculate PV systems but also produce distributor, circuit, cable trays, wiring and lightning protection plans.
