The award was presented at a ceremony at the BRE Innovation Park just outside of London. Nominations were collected from across the British industry with a final selection by an expert panel composed of representatives of the National Solar Energy Centre, BRE, Supergen Solar Hub and CREST.

Robert Goss, MD Conergy UK, said: “Conergy has always been about excellence in solar, and our engineering knowledge means we outperform in EPC in every market we enter, from the Philippines to Mexico, from Canada to Japan. Here in Britain we’re proud of what we’ve achieved, as a company and as an industry, in doubling the country’s solar capacity in just one year. And we look forward to unlocking yet more value in solar through innovation in the supply chain, and continuing reductions in the cost of capital."

Conergy built the UK’s first 5MW+ solar plant in 2011 and in June was ranked among the top five builders of solar plants in Europe’s biggest solar market. So far this year the company has built over 125 MWp of UK capacity, including a 37MWp plant for European utility giant RWE in Prime Minister David Cameron’s constituency.
