Central California Almond Growers Association (CCAGA), the largest grower-owned cooperative in the world focused on almond hulling and shelling, has announced the completion of its 1MW ground-mounted solar system at its Kerman facility in California. After a rigorous selection process, CCAGA chose Cenergy Power to engineer and install the large solar system.

CCAGA's new solar array will produce approximately 1,845,800 kWh of electricity annually for the association, the equivalent of reducing 1,403 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) — equal to the emissions of over 1.3 million pounds of coal burned annually. CCAGA is also poised to save more than half of their Kerman — K-3 facility's electricity costs annually with the implementation of the solar project.

"Cenergy did an exemplary job with the installation of a beautiful solar array and delivered it on schedule, and with no glitches," stated Mike Kelley, President & CEO of CCAGA, at the solar site's dedication event last week. "I've never seen a major project come online without some problem or issue; this project was smooth from start to finish."

"CCAGA is a world class almond huller and we feel very fortunate to be part of their push into sustainable solar," stated Cenergy Power CEO, Bill Pham.
