The addition of this solar garden serves the community’s environmental stewardship while helping them reduce operating expenses and fixed energy costs.

Brookwood Community’s new solar panel installation will produce more than 81,000 kilowatt-hours in its first year of operation, and save the non-profit more than $284,000 dollars over the next 25 years.

“We are very happy to get involved with such a worthwhile cause,” said Graeme Walker, Alba Energy’s Founder and CEO. “In addition to financial savings, the solar energy system will help the Brookwood Community reduce their carbon emissions by 1,324 metric tons, or the equivalent to over 1.4 million pounds of coal burned,” added Walker.

The solar installation was made possible by generous donations made to the GreenBrook Energy Project that was created by the Renewable Energy Friends (REF), an organization set up to raise money for renewable energy solutions for Brookwood to help them reduce their environmental footprint.

“We were extremely pleased with the quality of work, timeliness and professionalism that Alba displayed during all aspects of our GreenBrook Solar project. We are also very grateful to our generous donors for helping to fund this effort. Projects like this will help Brookwood remain economically and environmentally sustainable for many years to come,” said Milt Howard, Founder of REF.
