Neil Yu, co-founder of ATESS:
12 years ago, I set foot on an island in Thailand for the first time. There, fishermen relied on diesel generators to make a living. The billowing black smoke and the rumbling noise clashed sharply with the blue sea and clear sky. The villagers told me that power outages were a common occurrence. Children had to finish homework before dark, and the clinic couldn't operate due to power failures. At that moment, I realized that energy is not just a technical issue but a topic related to human dignity.
At that time, traditional grid-connected solar systems were relatively mature, but there was still a gap in the market for applications with poor grid conditions. Standing at the crossroads of the energy industry, I and a group of like-minded partners shared a common obsession: how to make clean energy more reliable, especially for those corners forgotten by the traditional power grid.
Illuminate every corner of the world with ESS technology
So in 2017, ATESS was born. We named ourselves ATESS cos we think we are “at the Threshold of an Era of Storage Solution” (abbreviated as ATESS) and then we officially embarked on our journey. However, we didn't start from scratch. 4 years earlier, the team had already sown the seeds in the field of energy storage. Our experiences in those remote areas became our original driving force. We asked ourselves: How can we enable areas with poor power grid conditions to access stable and cost-effective green electricity?
The answer lies not only in technology but also in a sense of responsibility. Over the past 12 years, we have been deeply engaged in the R&D of ESS technology, forging a solid brand moat. For example, one of their remarkable advantages is the strong load-carrying capacity. Even when handling inductive loads, seamless switching can be achieved. This feature has played a crucial role in numerous projects, ensuring the stability of power supply, solving practical problems for users, and enabling us to stand out in the industrial and commercial energy storage field.
Weaving the Web for Energy Transformation in All Industries
So what is ATESS's positioning? I say we are “weavers”. With a presence in 95 countries around the world, 14 overseas bases, and thousands of industrial and commercial energy storage projects, this “web” not only connects devices to the grid but also links technology with people's lives. From farms in Africa to fishing ports in Southeast Asia, from factories in Europe to schools in South America, we customize solutions for every scenario. Because energy demands are never just cold numbers, they are shouts for better life and production.
Once, a coffee plantation owner in Indonesia came to us. His coffee dryers often stopped due to grid fluctuations, causing an entire season's coffee beans to spoil. We designed a solar energy storage system for him. Now, the aroma of his coffee wafts to Europe. He said, “This is not just electricity, it's a livelihood, a heritage.” Stories like this make us firmly believe that the end goal of the low-carbon transformation is the smiles of countless ordinary people.
