ABB solar inverters harvest the sun in Greece

ABB in Greece will supply 500 and 630 kilowatt (kW) central inverters to several ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) power plants around the mainland. The size of the plants ranges from 100 kilowatt-peak (kWp) up to 5,9 MWp in size, the majority of them being approximately 500 kWp in power. These systems will produce approximately 45.000 MWh clean, CO2-free energy annually. In addition to the central inverters, ABB’s scope of supply includes medium voltage transformers and switchgear for efficient and secure medium voltage grid connection.

For 18 MWp of these projects, ABB also delivers the housings for the inverters and medium voltage equipment. “Our solar inverter offering is complemented with a broad range of ABB’s high quality medium voltage transformers and grid connection equipment suitable specifically for PV power plants.
