Yashil Energiya is a state-owned company under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is the largest implementer and key player in rooftop PV projects throughout the country, responsible for rooftop PV projects for government office buildings, kindergartens, schools, parks, and other government and public welfare projects.
The cooperation plan will remain valid for one year, during which TW (Tongwei) Solar will provide at least 300MW high-efficiency PV modules for PV projects in Uzbekistan. The plan will enable Yashil Energiya to deliver more intelligent equipment from TW(Tongwei) Solar to Uzbekistan, fully unlocking the PV potential of these projects.
Uzbekistan has recently issued a ten-year power development strategy in order to tackle the significant challenges faced by the power industry. Over the past four years, the country has concluded investment agreements worth USD 10.1 billion for the operation of new energy facilities, with PV as the focus of these investments. To facilitate this cooperation, the government and relevant enterprises of Uzbekistan had in-depth communications with TW (Tongwei) Solar.
In February 2023, Mr. Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, along with key local government officials and enterprise representatives, visited the Jintang Base of TW(Tongwei) Solar to gain insight into TW(Tongwei) Solar's strong strength in the PV sector. This visit laid a foundation for the cooperation between the two parties.
In March 2023, TW (Tongwei） Solar attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Construction of PV Plants with Capacity of 400 MW in Tashkent Region, Uzbekistan, and signed a memorandum of cooperation for developing rooftop PV and fishery & PV integration projects, marking a milestone in the implementation of the energy business cooperation plan between TW(Tongwei) Solar and Uzbekistan.
In May 2023, Liu Shuqi, Board Chairman/CEO of Tongwei, attended the Uzbek President's Roundtable Meeting with Representatives of Chinese Businesses, further promoting cooperation intentions. Later, the two parties conducted friendly consultations on relevant areas of cooperation.
This cooperation between TW (Tongwei) Solar and Yashil Energiya demonstrates their commitment to promoting the world energy transition, and advancing energy cooperation projects with high quality from the holistic perspective of resolving the global crisis and improving human welfare.
Leveraging the advantages of its two flagship products (i.e. silicon materials and solar cells), TW (Tongwei) Solar has been extensively engaged in the module market since 2022, and has established stable and efficient marketing channels.
