NEXTracker hits 3 GW of cumulative delivery worldwide

Less than five months ago, in November 2015, NEXTracker had 1.8 GW of its technology in operation or under construction across five continents. Today, the company announced the achievement of a new milestone: it has shipped more than 3 GW of its trackers for solar projects located around the world.

“This year marks a turning point for the industry. Solar is now the lowest cost power solution in key markets, and its cost effectiveness, combined with global clean energy priorities, is fueling record demand,” NEXTracker CEO Dan Shugar said in the announcement.

In addition to its significant presence in the Americas, NEXTracker has successfully expanded its client base in emerging solar markets including India, China, Australia, and the Middle East.

In November last year, NEXTracker reached 100 MW of weekly shipments of its NX Horizon trackers. The company claims that, due to its self-grounding and self-powered technology, NX Horizon provides valuable savings in labor and materials, and its 120-degree rotational range enables PV systems to take full advantage of high irradiance regions. The technology is said to be designed to minimize the dirt, flooding, snow and vegetation concerns.
