Supply chain challenges during Covid-19

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought many challenges for people working in supply chain management, writes Torsten Nimtz, the regional director of renewables for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. The two most significant of these challenges are rising prices and declining reliability.

PV projects are one of many areas hit by disruptions and rising costs due to Covid-19 restrictions causing a huge backlog of containers and a struggling shipping infrastructure. The situation has been further exacerbated by the recent week-long closure of the Suez Canal.
