Hanwha Q Cells has expanded its presence in Japan with a 60 MW solar module supply order for three solar parks.

The South Korean manufacturer will supply more than 235,000 of its 245 Wp, 255 Wp and 260 Wp output Q.PRO G3 modules for solar projects at Kitakyushu, Tomakomai and Saizo, the company announced yesterday.

Hanwha Q Cells, which manufactures its products in Thalheim, Germany and in Malaysia, is hailing the deal as a vote of confidence in its new G3 product range.

The manufacturer will be shipping modules for the contract until June and is partnering with solar investor Sumitomo Corporation and Japan’s biggest EPC company, NTT facilities Inc., on the deal.
