Gehrlicher Solar has completed three ground-mounted systems in Romania with a total capacity of 9 MWp.
The German PV company built the facilities for a Romanian private investor on almost 19 hectares in the county of Mures, some 360 km northwest of the capital Bucharest.
The country is supporting the three solar parks, each of which with 3 MWp capacity, through its green certificate program for 15 years.
For the installation, Gehrlicher Solar used 36,168 modules manufactured by Jinko, nine central inverters produced by SMA and its own in-house developed mounting system GehrTec Base, which is suitable for any terrain. Each of the three solar power systems will produce around four million kilowatt hours of electricity yearly.
"The very successful realization of our first Romanian project with 9 MWp in Isaccea last November gave us the chance to convince the investor early on with our rapid realization capability and high reliability," said Gehrlicher Solar CEO Klaus Gehrlicher. "Therefore, we are very pleased to have been awarded the contract for the design and construction of three additional solar parks in Romania."
In addition to the Mures plants, Gehrlicher is working on two other projects of about 2.5 MWp each, currently under construction in Brasov. Once they are in operation, Gehrlicher will have reached a total installed capacity of more than 23 MWp in Romania.
The Munich-based Gehrlicher operates subsidiaries and joint ventures in France, Britain, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Turkey, India, South Africa, and the U.S.
