Ukraine has recently unveiled its plans to restructure feed-in tariff, with possible price cut adjustments to the tariff having a retroactive effect, and this has been the primary point of discussion for RES market players during the past months.
Ukrainian renewable energy industry was thriving for the past years and succeeded in making a hit with multi-billion investment projects advanced by international investors and financial institutions. The looming changes triggered the specific interest about the legal remedies that investors may employ when wrestling with the state in order to compensate their losses, and international investment arbitration may become eventually destination for investors.
For this reason we have summoned various experienced experts in renewable energy, arbitration and damages calculation from Ukraine (UWEA and Arzinger), the United States and UK (the Brattle Group), and France (Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer), which will be pleased to share their unique expertise and vision.
1. Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of the Board, Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, Ukraine
2. Iaroslav Cheker, Counsel, Head of Energy and Natural Resources, Arzinger, Ukraine
3. Oksana Karel, Counsel, Co-Head of International Litigation and Arbitration, Arzinger, Ukraine
4. Mariia Puchyna, Associate, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, France
5. Florin Dorobantu, Principal, The Brattle Group, USA
