GEF-SK 2020 will gather a full industry chain to discuss the orderly planning roadmap, future flourishment of Solar, Wind, Storage, as well as the cutting-edge projects that shape the country’s renewable plan.  Day 2 – 2 September will have two Parallel Sub-forum, co-located with 2nd Korea Solar + Energy Storage and Korea Wind Energy respectively. Here, you will meet a total of  600+ high-level attendees, including governmental officers, utilities, local and international developers, investors and solution providers who devote themselves to South Korea’s Green Energy Future.

Outstanding performance in 2019 & Huge potential:

#Solar – The country is working on installing 30.8 GW of solar PV by that date, with 9% of that capacity to be developed at Saemangeum. The government is overseeing the development of a 2.1 GW floating PV project on the Saemangeum tidal flats, as well as a 1 GW rooftop solar plan in Seoul. It installed about 2 GW of PV in 2019.

#Wind – South Korea ranked world top in the in operation and under construction capacity of offshore wind in 2019 with the target to go 8.19 GW in around 5 years. Floating wind will be a hot spot in South Korea. The total floating offshore wind development pipeline to around 1 GW.

Mr Seong Woo Park, General Manager, Wind Power Project Division, Korea Energy Agency (KEA) confirmed to join GEF-SK as Keynote Speaker.

Since its establishment in 1980, Korea Energy Agency has been at the forefront of efficient and rational energy use in Korea, as a silent guardian of Korea’s sound economic development and better quality of life.

– KES statistics are used as a basis of policies on new and renewable energy

– KEA provides statistics needed for national energy statistics.

– KEA provides international organizations with new and renewable energy statistics in Korea
