PV manufacturer China Sunergy (CSUN) signed a 15 MW framework agreement with Turkish EPC PV-Systems on Wednesday at the Solarex exhibition in Istanbul.

The deal covers CSUN 250-60P modules produced at CSUN Eurasia’s factory in Istanbul as well as deliveries from China. The modules will be used in several unlicensed ground mounted projects across Turkey. The first projects will be constructed in the Antalya region.

Hüseyin Köse, one of PV-Systems’ owners and a long-term partner of CSUN in various company set-ups, said, “We chose to cooperate with CSUN in Turkey, based on my long-term experience with their products and services in Greece and Bulgaria, where we installed more than 6 MW of their modules in our projects. The quality of the products provided by CSUN has proven to be outstanding and we are very satisfied with their services.”

Köse added that the agreement would ensure module availability for PV-Systems’ expansion plans in Turkey.

CSUN CEO Stephen Cai said the deal was the company’s “largest single contract for product supply to Turkish projects. We are very proud that our modules have been chosen by PV-Systems.”

Cai described the agreement as a major milestone for CSUN that “confirms our strategy to invest into production facilities in Turkey, which we consider a major hub for the booming Turkish, developing Middle East and established European markets."

CSUN this week announced the completion of a 240 kWp project in Turkey located in the community of Göbekli in the southeastern city of Sanliurfa. The company partnered on the project with another long-term partner, Portuguese PV group Asunim, which opened its Turkish subsidiary in Ankara in 2012.
