Jakson Solar launches 630 W bifacial TOPCon PV modules

Jakson Solar’s Helia NXT R series PV modules utilize rectangular 16-busbar n-type TOPCon cells and have an efficiency of up to 23.34%.

Panasonic, Innova developing PV-compatible multi-source heat pump combined with PCM

The novel heat pump concept should enable ready-to-use energy storage even in already existing installations. It features capabilities that easily detect self-consumption of PV energy, maximizing the amount of energy that can be produced and consumed on-site

Turkey exempts four large manufacturers from anti-dumping duties applied to 5 countries

The Turkish authorities applied an anti-dumping tariff of $25/m2 solar modules imported from Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Croatia, and Jordan.

PV system sizing for 100% self-consumption

A group of researchers has proposed a new method for the sizing of PV systems that do not rely on an anti-dump system and operate without the possibility of injecting power into the grid. The novel approach requires an estimate of the annual hourly profile and the minimum power demanded, as well as the use of an irradiance meter and an electrical network analyzer.

Wattstone launches new concrete bases for rooftop PV

The German company said its new products are suitable for PV systems with tilt angles ranging from 0 to 15.6 degrees.

Storing solar power through aluminum-rock composite

UK-based Caldera has developed a new heat storage technology that can reportedly convert on-site generated solar power into on-demand heat, thus replacing conventional gas boilers. The system uses a composite of recycled aluminum and volcanic rocks to store heat at up to 500 C and produce steam.

Silver price on the rise

The price of silver has increased over 30% since the beginning of the year, with a particularly strong increase being registered in the last few months.

German startup unveils ‘self-aligned’ back-contact TOPCon solar cell

EnPV GmbH has developed a TOPCon solar cell concept featuring a novel type of back contact technology. The cell can reportedly be produced at signifcantly lower costs compared to conventional TOPCon cells and its manufacturinng process is claimed to be easy to introduce in existing TOPCon production equipment.

Philippines’ large-scale PV market sees project size largely increase

Philippines’ Department of Energy cleared 29 utility-scale solar projects in the January-August period. Most of them have a capacity of more than 180 MW and four of them even exceed 500 MW. The list also includes eight floating projects each exceeding 100 MW.
