Off-grid solar market worth $300 million annually
The off-grid solar market now represents US$300 million annually, with more than 13 million products having been sold to date, according to a new report. The sub-Saharan market is said to be reporting the strongest growth, followed by South Asia.
ReneSola CFO resigns
Daniel Lee, CFO of China-based ReneSola Ltd has announced his resignation. The reason for his decision has not been communicated. The company’s VP of Financial Control will serve as interim CFO, following his departure.
SMA reaches 1 GW inverter sales in India
SMA Solar Technology AG has reached 1 GW of inverter sales in India. The German manufacturer has been present in the market since 2010. At 2 GW, however, ABB still holds the Indian inverter crown.
25 MW PV project planned for New Mexico
A 25 MW solar PV project is expected to come online next December in Luna County, New Mexico. The generated energy will be sold to Tri-State G&T under a 25 year PPA.
SMA to supply 24 MW Korean energy storage project

IHS increases 2015 PV forecast to 59 GW, 2016 to 65 GW
IHS Inc. has raised its global solar PV forecasts for the next two years, to 59 GW and 65 GW, respectively. The U.S. and China are leading the charge. In 2019, meanwhile, over 70 GW is expected to be installed.
5 MDBs pledge $170 billion in climate financing
Ahead of the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, or COP21, five multilateral development banks (MDBs) have pledged to increase climate financing to US$170 billion over the next five years.
GCL contracts Power China Beijing for 50 MW PV project
Yugan GCL has signed Power China Beijing up for EPC services for a 50 MW solar PV project in Chinas Jiangxi Province. The contract is worth US$69.6 million.
Canadian Solar to build 47 MW PV plant in Japan
Canadian Solar Inc. has signed an agreement with Mashiki Town and Kumamoto Prefecture to build a 47 MW solar PV plant. It is scheduled for completion in 2017.

The SolarMax Group has begun production of its solar PV inverters once again, having transferred operations from Switzerland to Germany. Expansion is on the cards.
